Introducing Virginia Beach Chiropractor Dr. Mithra Green
I was born in 1970 at Manhattan General Hospital. My mother quickly moved us to Boulder, Colorado where she married my stepfather. I grew up there as part of a Buddhist community. I learned to meditate at a young age and continue the practice.
In 1990 I attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. I was a chemistry major by day and a bartender by night. In ‘92, my biological father, a chiropractor, contacted me and we resumed our relationship.
I had never been to a chiropractor and ignorantly referred to them as “witch doctors” and “quacks”. I was persuaded to see one in Fort Collins, Dr. Scott White, to help improve my own health.
At Colorado State University, I played rugby and was an avid mountain biker. I had suffered chronic knee and shoulder pains for years. Each winter an inner ear problem would cause me great pain when snowboarding due to the elevation change.
Despite being his worst patient, Dr. White helped me tremendously. He showed how my body could heal itself in spite of my belief that my injuries were chronic and permanent.
In ‘94 I decided to attend Life University in Atlanta to become a chiropractor. My stepsister was attending school, and now practices in Virginia Beach. She married my fraternity brother a chiropractor in Norfolk (There are several Chiropractors in my family). In ‘99, I graduated with a 3.5GPA and became an associate doctor in my fathers’ office where I learned low force adjusting.
In ‘00, I fell in love with a teacher named Jennifer and we married the following year. In ‘02, we had our first son, Weston, at home. I opened my first office on Indian River Road later that year, with my wife working as receptionist. In ‘06, our second son, Spencer, was born, followed by Cooper in ‘07, all at home.
I’m active in local healthcare politics. I served two terms as president of the Hampton Roads Chiropractic Association. I live off Shore Drive and on sunny weekends you will find me and my family down at the beach. I enjoy running (completed the Rock and Roll half marathon) and yoga in my spare time.
Sincerely, Dr. Mithra Green, D.C.
